Description:
Photograph article dated June 27, 1963 partially reads, "You'll get your cherry pickin' hands a little sticky maybe, and a little pink from the juicy, ripe fruit, but you'll have fun and save money. It's cherry-pickin' time in Beaumont, and fresh fruit lovers from all over Southern California are making a day of it in the nearby desert community. The U-Pick system of selling Beaumont cherries has been going on for more than 40 years, to the advantage of both buyer and seller. Beaumont and cherries are synonymous because Beaumont is the only cherry-growing area in Southern California and the product is unequalled for flavor anywhere in the world." Pictured are Robert and Debra Mispagel.; See images #00129928 through #00129930 for all photos in this series.
