- View of a rare type of cactus, but one which is quite common in Palm Canyon, located at the foot of Mt. San Jacinto. Mount San Jacinto, also frequently named San Jacinto Peak, is the highest peak in Riverside County, with an elevation of 10,834 feet. The peak towers over the city of Palm Springs, but is part of the San Jacinto Mountains and lies within Mount San Jacinto State Park. April 28, 1937.
