- Photograph of 11 palm trees (Washingtonia Filifera) in Chuckwalla (or Chuckawalla) Canyon in the Colorado Desert, northeast of Palm Springs, near Indio, ca.1903-1904. There is little other vegetation in the sand except for some scrub brush in the right foreground. The ground beneath the palms are covered with fallen fronds.
