Description:: Photograph of a view of Eighth Street in Riverside looking west, ca.1905. The wide unpaved road bisects the image, moving off vertically toward the edge of a mountain visible in the distance. Flanking it to either side are horse-drawn carriages parked along the sidewalk to the left, and bicycles to the right, respectively. Two-story commercial buildings frame the street just off the sidewalks to either side, the spired roofs of two Victorian-style buildings visible on either side just at the corners of the block. Signs that read "Shoe Store" and "Automobiles" can be seen on canopies overhanging the show windows of stores in the right foreground.
