Description:
Photograph of the intake from the main aqueduct at the eastern end of the Cajalco Reservoir in Riverside, November 19, 1939. A large crater is carved into the rock at center with a dark, still body of water at its bottom. The water flows through a small, lightly-colored tunnel on the far side of the water while two ropes connect posts within the crater to posts at the top of a grassy hill on the right. A wooden fence extends from those posts and supports site-seers who crowd the upper platform.
